The carburetor is a device for atomising and vaporising the fuel and mixing it with the air in the varying proportion to suit the changing operating conditions of the engine. The process of braking up and mixing the fuel with the air is called carburetion and device is done all these process are called Carburetor.

The first carburetor was invented by SAMUEL MOREY in 1826.
The carburetor works on Bernoulli's Principal the faster air moves, decreasesing it's static pressure and increasing the dynamic pressure.
